Raining day

So since we have been back we have been without a car and walking a lot.  It was been just fine and even an adventure.  One day we were walking home from practice and got caught in a rain storm, not just any Oregon rain storm its a true Brazilian rain storm.  We were soaked completely through our cloths, Andrew almost lost another shoe to the river like water running through the streets but thankfully we had Robert this time and he ran it down and saved it.  Cooper was wrapped up in a towel to stay dry and Lainey was the only one prepared with a jacket so she fared pretty well but Robert, Andrew, and I were absolutely soaked it was so much fun.  Here is a picture but its hard to tell just how wet we were.

Back to Brazil

Here goes round three, I'm hoping that one of our many adventures can go smooth but it hasn't happened yet.  This time I took my time buying tickets and really tried for the best option with the least amount of flights and layovers and there were defiantly things that went much better this time because of that but not smooth.  So flight one we get on the plane in Portland and they start up the plane and then turn it off and say that we need more fuel because we have to fly low because of bad turbulence.  Then they turn them back on and turn them right back off and the pilot says that the electrician needs to board and figure out what is going on with all the electrical stuff and that this is the first time they have flown this plane.  SO at this point we are about an hour in and now the plane is faulty and there is bad turbulence (shoot me now).  Really now its no big deal but at the time it was a bit stressful.  We finally took off and 41/2 hours later landed in Texas over an hour late and basically ran to our next flight and when we got there it was delayed.  Which really was nice so the kids could move around a bit and we got something to drink.  Now its time for flight two Dallas to Sao Paulo, this flight was very long and its really hard for me to sleep I try and make sure the kids have room so that leaves me with none but I watched several movies and TV shows so it passes the time.  Lainey and Cooper slept until we landed the next day and when Andrew woke up he just watched some shows.  Overall a great flight.  Once we landed we had a lay over so we were in no hurry but made our way through customs and then went to get our luggage only to have one bag taken by someone else who had the same bag.  It took 2 hours waiting in line to report the missing bag that happen to have all my cloths, laptop, and a couple presents for people down here.  The kids were hungry and I was hot and frustrated that my bag was missing.  By that time with the late flight and the line to report the bag we had to go eat and check in right away.  When we were checking in for our last flight to Uberlandia they said because they are not an international airline that I had to pay extra for bags over 50lbs and for more than 1 bag per person.  So frustrating but at that point I just wanted to be done so I paid and we just waited the last little bit and boarded the plane to Robert.  I was so tired on this plane I could barely keep my eyes open and slept a little but not much.  Finally we landed in Uberlandia and got to Robert.

Now that we were in Uberlandia and being that it was Robert's bday we went for a late dinner and I had Vanessa here in Brazil get the cake and invite the whole team and we just celebrated all together.  It was a wonderful night with all our Brazil family and friends and the first time in 8 years that Robert has been with any of his family on his actual bday.  Oh a little side note I think the cake was the best cake I have had and you all know me and cakes.

Anyway we are all here and just getting readjusted to the time difference and our schedule.  School started today for Andrew and he did really well and tomorrow we start swimming up again.  Miss everyone already and I will write more later.

Robert's Suprise 30th Bday

This year is Robert's 30th birthday and he has not got to celebrate a birthday at home in 8 years and I really wanted to make this special for him.  Robert's best friend Ryan's 30th birthday was on the 29th of December and me and his wife Abigail thought we would plan a dual party.  Some how we both managed to keep it a surprise and I think it worked they were both surprised and happy.  We had our families and friends there to make it a really special night for both guys.
The banner picture is from a summer concert that the four of us went to.  It was one of the best
 dates we have been on.
Each birthday boy had their own cake and Ryan's was a red velvet it was so good.  Of and that big picture is from mine and Robert's wedding.  They look so young!
Robert's cake was a cheesecake with chocolate cake I was hoping to combine two of his favorite things and it really did turn out good just very rich.  This picture is from Ryan and Abigail's wedding again being silly I don't think I have one serious picture of them together ;).
The surprise moment.  Robert didn't get it at first because I was telling him that this was a surprise for Ryan and he kept asking why is my family here and finally I turned him around and showed him the banner and he got it.
I don't think I have seen Robert that happy in a while to have our family and friends all
together for a wonderful evening was perfect.
Reena, Robert, Ryan, and Abigail.  What a magical night with a wonderful couple!!!
I love them both so much just wonderful individual people, a wonderful couple, and parents!
The big moment no turning back now they are 30!!!

Christmas 2011

What a wonderful day with family. The kids had a blast opening and playing with all their new toys and I think my faviorite thing is the biscuits and gray from mom. When Cooper came down stairs first thing in the morning he said "wow look at all the presents" and RObert said "where do you think they came from?" Cooper said the door, cause we kept all the wrapped presents in the storage closet. So cute!!!

 Before we started opening presents.
 Santa presents.
Santa really came through with three great presents!
